Seven Sparks Nemo [CAN 5647]

In 2026, we felt confident enough to experiment with line breeding on a reduced herd. Nemo is hetero-polled and the final product out of our retired herd matriarch Clover by sire Leopold. Being the grandson of Shanidar Excella, he has an impeccable pedigree while sporting an excellent conformation in a compact size. We couldn't go wrong populating our herd one last time with foundation genetics even if it means getting a few horns.

Lachlan Leopold [CAN 5348]

In 2023 we acquired a young homo-polled bull calf with premium imported genetics. And with Belle Fourche, Cascade, and Glenn Land in his pedigree, we had to scoop him up early. He is the final product of the highly successful Lachlan herd from northern SK with a bit of wild type colouring. We consider ourselves fortunate to purchase this gem. (Photo at 3 years on a grass only diet.) We let him go in 2026 to a larger herd where his breeding potential could be realized but not before producing four heifers to add to our breeding program.

Lachlan Conrad [CAN 4455]

Beef!!! Nothing more to say about this homo-polled gentleman who always poses for photos. Used in 2020 and 2021 breeding seasons giving us four quality heifers. Three of them remain as a consistent component of the Seven Sparks line. Conrad returned to his native province (SK) in 2022 in a herd sire swap.

Grey Abbey Felix [CAN 4867]

Used in 2022 and 2023 breeding seasons, this homo-polled A1/A2 bull has moved on to new pastures. He came from a closed (and now retired) herd with a consistent line of strong dual-purpose breeding. His proven abilities helped us get through calving in record time. His daughters moved on to a new herd, but not before giving us granddaughter Nectarine.

Supremely Divine Daire [CAN 4608]

Our first herd sire, tame and playful, was a treat to have around. Used in 2018 and 2019, Daire enhanced the milk production of our 2019 and 2020 heifers. Despite the obscure herd name, Daire is also from Grey Abbey pedigree. He produced the first-ever polled Dexter bull born and registered in the province of Manitoba. His daughters have moved on to new pastures. One granddaughter, Kleopatra, remains in our herd as an efficient and low-maintenance producer.

Hidden Rock Ruari [CAN 4632]

Our first females in 2018 arrived bred to this bull making him the sire of the first registered Dexters to sport the Seven Sparks herd name.
